Review
This is official description applies to version 2.5
FIFA Manager 10 is the 2010 successor to the FIFA Manager series from EA's sports brand, EA Sports, following up FIFA Manager 09. FIFA Manager 10 was developed by Bright Future and published by EA Sports. When installed there will be two executable files: Single-player mode and the Multiplayer mode that can be played online. The game gives you the chance to control a wide range of features from discussing tactics with individual players to creating monster stadiums to house your fans.
The following review written by one of the Software Informer contributors applies to version 1.0
FIFA MANAGER 10 is a very complete soccer simulation game. It is not the type of game in which you play the sport. You actually control the manager of a soccer club and deal with all kinds of decisions. You do everything from buying players, setting your club's formations and lineups, buying upgrades for your stadium, marketing, public relations, etc.
FIFA 10 has a manager mode, but it is very limited compared to what FIFA MANAGER has to offer. The demo gives you full functionality and it gives you a nice taste of what the full experience looks like. It only limits the number of leagues that you can simulate. This game allows you to keep track of what happens in a variety of leagues around the world. Most countries that have leagues are available and you can manage any club that you want. But you can only manage one at a time. You can of course resign or accept other offers, but you have a reputation to maintain. I can't possibly get into everything that you can do within the game. It suffices to say that it is the ultimate soccer managing experience. And every decision that you make along the way will have consequences, either good or bad.
Playing the demo was entertaining and very informative. The on-screen help guides you through the many decisions that you have to make and it is easy to get started. This is not a game that you can just sit and play. Everything takes time. I probably spent like 10 minutes changing things around and waiting for my game day to arrive. I couldn't see an option to simulate ahead to my game day, but I am sure there has to be a way to do it.
All in all, FIFA MANAGER is a great soccer simulation experience. If you are a hardcore soccer fan, you will not want to stop playing this game; that is until FIFA MANAGER 11 is released in a couple of months. |
- Good depth.
- Lots of options.
- Nice interface.
|
- It can feel too slow at times.
